Significance of Monotheism in Social Life

If we are really afraid of something, we think and try to find a solution. If we really believe in God and are afraid of the Day of Resurrection, we will make many changes in our social behavior.

According to Rahyafte(the missionaries and converts website):We usually turn to God when we lose our hope elsewhere. In this case, one remembers God, but in small matters, we pin hope on others. As if the main matters are God’s responsibility and humans are responsible for small ones.

The most important part of monotheism is in the social system. What it means is that we should see the presence of God in our daily life. The kind of monotheism in which we cite rational reasons to prove the existence of God and His attributes, but neglect God in our everyday life, is worthless. If we believe in something, this belief should be manifested in our life. If God is not present in our life, we will fall into polytheism and witness different kinds of deviations in social life.

Imam Sadeq (AS) said: “The world has manifested itself before human eyes and has become so great that it has left no place for the Hereafter.”

This is very important. If we are really afraid of something, we will think and try to do something and find a solution. If we are really afraid of the Day of Resurrection, we will make many changes in our life.

The fact that human prefers today to tomorrow has different reasons; the first one is that he does not have trust in the future. In this case, it is clear that we have not taken the promises of the Quran seriously and do not believe that these promises will be fulfilled for sure. The second one is the difficulties in life and one’s weakness in resisting them. Another reason is that human recognizes the value of small things, but not that of big ones. Another reason for this negligence is the weakness of willpower.
