Imam Jafar Sadiq (peace be upon him), the head of the Jafari school

During his 34-year period of Imamate, he laid the foundation of the “Ja’fari School” and played a significant role in preserving and revitalizing the Muhammadan Sharia (Islamic law).

According to Rahyafte(the missionaries and converts website):Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq, peace be upon him, the head of the Ja’fari school (Shi’a Islam), was born on the 17th of Rabi’ al-Awwal in the year 83 AH (Islamic calendar). His father was Imam Muhammad al-Baqir, peace be upon him, and his mother was Umm Farwah, the daughter of Qasim ibn Muhammad ibn Abu Bakr.

His epithet was “Abu Abdullah,” and his title was “Sadiq.” Imam Sadiq, peace be upon him, was contemporaneous with his esteemed grandfather, Imam Sajjad, until the age of 12. Undoubtedly, his initial upbringing occurred under the guidance of that noble figure, and the Imam, peace be upon him, gleaned wisdom from the garden of his grandfather’s knowledge.

After the passing of the fourth Imam, he

spent 19 years in the service of his venerable father, Imam Muhammad al-Baqir, peace be upon him. Thus, he dedicated 31 years of his life to serving his grandfather and father, both of whom were representatives of God during their respective eras and the sources of divine knowledge.

Therefore, apart from the divine aspect and the divine blessings that each Imam possessed, the presence of his father and venerable grandfather allowed him to develop innate talents, acquire extensive knowledge, and cultivate profound wisdom. He reached the pinnacle of knowledge and etiquette in his era and became the greatest champion of knowledge and learning in his time.
