Prayer of Those Who Heard Call of Faith

When a called invites people to believe in God, there are some who follow the call and there is a unity among those who accept this call.

According to Rahyafte(the missionaries and converts website):Some verses of the Quran are about prayers of prophets and pious people that begin with the phrase Rabbana (our Lord) and express requests from God.

One of these verses is about those who have heard the message of faith and believed it. Listening is one of the effective ways of guidance, with some Quran interpreters describing it as the most effective way.

The verse is this: “Our Lord, we have heard the caller calling to belief, ‘Believe in your Lord!’ So we believe. Our Lord, forgive us our sins and acquit us of our evil deeds, and take us to You in death with the righteous.” (Surah Al Imran, Verse 193)

Quran interpreters have mentioned some points about who the caller of faith is:

1- Most of them believe the Holy Prophet (PBUH) was the one who called to faith.

2- Others say it is the Quran, because many people have not heard the call by the Prophet (PBUH) in person but everyone has heard the call of the Quran.

We read in Nemuneh Exegesis of the Quran: Those who own wisdom and insight, after recognizing the purpose of creation, will also recognize the fact that this path that has many ups and downs cannot be taken without a guide and leader. So they are always waiting for the voice of those calling to faith. They hear them, move toward them promptly and believe with all their heart and tell their Lord: “Lord, we have heard the person calling to the faith and have accepted his call.”

Of course, there are some who ignore this call and they are the ones who say with regret on the Day of Judgment: “If only we had listened and understood we should not now be among the inhabitants of the Blaze.” (Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 10)

Messages of Verse 193 of Surah Al Imran According to Noor Exegesis of Quran:

1- Wise people are ready to accept the truth and along with answering the call of Fitrat (nature), they answer the call of prophets, scholars and martyrs: “Our Lord, we have heard the caller calling to belief…”

2- Repenting and admitting a mistake are signs of wisdom.

3- Among the manners of praying that paves the way for God’s forgiveness is paying attention to God’s attribute of sustaining and forgiving. “Our Lord! forgive us therefore our faults.”

4- Faith is a basis for receiving God’s forgiveness.

5- Let’s include others in our prayers.

6- Keeping secret is among the aspects of Rububiyat and a way of education.

7- Death of people happens according to the Will of God. “…take us to You in death with the righteous.”

8- Wise and prudent people wish death with the righteous. “…take us to You in death with the righteous.”
