Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) inspires me to continue my quest for knowledge.

The new Muslim adds, “We see that from the time of the Karbala incident until now, people, as Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) mentioned, have been using religion for worldly interests.”

According to rahyafte (the missionaries and converts website)Dr. Rebecca Masterton, the director of the Cultural and Shia Studies Center based in England, who is a new Muslim, is proud to have become acquainted with Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) upon entering Islam. She regards him as an exemplary figure of pure, noble souls who are rare in this dark world.

She says, “Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) is highly respected by many people worldwide because people yearn for guides they can rely on, those who are courageous, possess pure hearts, and have always been rare in the world.”

This new Muslim researcher, who has given numerous talks on religious and cultural issues on British television and other media outlets, adds, “Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) inspires me to continue my quest for knowledge.”

The author of the book “Shi’i Spirituality for the Twenty-First Century” further states, “When I embraced Islam, I knew nothing about Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) and the events of Karbala. My familiarity with him was a gradual discovery.”

Dr. Rebecca Masterton says, “When I saw the lovers of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), I realized that they were the ones who preserved the memories and details of the Karbala event and the Day of Ashura; otherwise, it would have been forgotten, and today, we would have had a very different Islamic culture.”

She emphasizes that Imam Hussein’s (peace be upon him) uprising in Karbala is still relevant in our time, and we must learn from it to confront injustice in today’s world.

The new Muslim adds, “We see that from the time of the Karbala incident until now, people, as Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) mentioned, have been using religion for worldly interests.”

Dr. Rebecca Masterton reminds us that societies still need reform; truth-tellers are silenced, and injustice and tyranny are widespread.
