Tras continued: Since my adolescence, I observed the hijab, even though I knew nothing about Islam. I used to wear modest clothing at parties because it brought me tranquility.

Until then, I had never seen any Muslims up close, and I knew nothing about Islam except for what people said, which I now have come to believe was all lies. They used to tell me that Islam treats women with violence and that women are like slaves among Muslims. But now, after extensive research, I have realized that I was mistaken, and I am glad that I found the truth.

Sara Tras added: My nature, like the nature of all humans, is divine, and religion, especially Islam, is nothing but the need of human nature.

This new Muslim lady further talked about what or who initially sparked her interest in Islam. She said: “There were no Muslims around me, and there was nothing that led me to become familiar with Islam until I went to university and met a man whose behavior and attitude were different from others. He stood out among everyone else. His asceticism, piety, honesty, and purity intrigued me. Of course, neither I nor anyone else knew he was a Muslim.

His behavior became a role model for me. After I discovered that he was a Muslim, people advised me to stay away from him, but I had no reason to do so because he was purer and better than anyone I had ever seen. I asked him about some of his thoughts and behaviors, and he introduced his religion as the reason.

It was fascinating how his perspective on Islam completely differed from mine. I wanted him to tell me about Islam, and that’s how I got acquainted with Islam.

In response to the question of whether performing religious duties was difficult for him when he first converted to Islam and if there was a moment he regretted his decision, he said: “No, never. When I became familiar with Islam, I felt like I was born anew and found tranquility. I had no concern other than pleasing God, and reciting the Quran brought me peace.

” With tears rolling down her cheeks, she said: “I don’t want to say that one should learn about Islam from Iranians; no, one should learn about Islam from the Quran or from anyone who is more familiar with this sacred book.”

Regarding hijab, she stated: “Islam and its rules are based on the pure human nature, and hijab is one of the obligations of Islam. It is shameful that some people blindly decide to ban hijab, which is one of the necessities of the human soul and preserves society from corruption and devastation.”
