Londoners Mourn Imam Hussein Martyrdom at Reopened Islamic Centre

Hundreds of people gathered at the Islamic Centre of England on Thursday night to mourn the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS), just hours after the centre was reopened.

According to rahyafte (the missionaries and converts website):On the night of Ashura, the Islamic Centre of England once again became a meeting place for lovers and followers of Ahlul-Bayt (AS) from different nationalities.

An hour after reopening, people mourned Imam Hussein’s (AS) martyrdom, chanting elegies and beating their chests.

Hojjatoeslam Hashem Mousavi, the Head of England’s Islamic Center, delivered a speech in which he enumerated the brilliant characteristics of Imam Hussein’s (AS) and his companions, such as dignity, self-esteem, freedom-seeking, and steadfastness in following divine causes. He emphasized that following Imam Hussein’s (AS) path ensures human prosperity

The British government had halted the Islamic Center’s religious, educational, and cultural activities for three months, but it was reopened on the eve of Ashura Day following inclusive protests and legal follow-ups, Iran Press reported.
