100K Copies of Quran in Swedish to Be Distributed

Following the desecration of the Holy Quran in Sweden late last month, an initiative seeks to print and distribute 100,000 copies of the Swedish translation of the holy book in the Scandinavian country.

According to rahyafte (the missionaries and converts website):On Monday, the Kuwaiti cabinet decided to print and distribute 100,000 copies of the Noble Quran in Swedish to show the true and tolerant nature of Islam. This initiative follows the directives of Prime Minister Ahmed Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.

As per the Prime Minister’s instructions, the Public Authority for Public Care will print and publish the Noble Quran, along with the teachings of the Prophet and related knowledge. The goal is to translate 100,000 copies of the Noble Quran into Swedish.

In collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, these copies will be distributed in Sweden to spread Islamic principles and values, and to encourage positive coexistence among all people. The focus will be on promoting love, tolerance, and peace, while emphasizing mercy and rejecting hatred, extremism, and religious intolerance, Arab Times reported.

Late last month, an extremist burned a Quran outside the Stockholm Central Mosque with police protection.

He timed his offensive act to match Eid al Adha, a major Muslim festival that is celebrated by followers of Islam around the world.

The police had granted him a permit based on free-speech rights, but they later announced that they had started an inquiry into “agitation.”

The act of disrespect provoked anger and condemnation from many Islamic countries, such as Iran, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Palestine, Morocco, Iraq, Pakistan, Senegal, Morocco, and Mauritania.
