Need for Setting Ground and Getting Prepared before Performing Salah

Salah is a pillar of religion and a religious duty that becomes obligatory for every Muslim starting from a certain age, and performing it requires having a certain preparedness.

According to Rahyafte (the missionaries and converts website):When boys turn 15 and girls 9, it is the beginning of puberty and the age of Takleef, which means they are from now on responsible and answerable for observing the belief in God and obeying His commands.

Of course, it is better for children to learn the rules of Salah and how it is performed before reaching the age of Takleef.

Apart from reaching puberty, there are other conditions necessary for Takleef, including having power, free will and Aql (intellect).

If a person is insane or is in conditions that cannot exercise his free will or is unable to perform his religious duties, performing them would not be obligatory for him.

In any case, Salah and its rules should be learned and one should get accustomed to saying daily prayers. Be acquainted with God and His remembrance through Salah and thus get prepared to obey God in every situation in life.

Just as one needs to do exercises and get prepared for confronting and fighting the enemy before entering the battlefield, Salah and other acts of worship are a kind of exercise to get prepared for confronting the Nafs (internal temptations) and fighting Satan.

If you have not prepared your soul for performing Salah correctly every day before reaching the age of Takleef, it would be difficult for you to do it when it becomes obligatory.
