According to rahyafteha(the missionaries and converts website):The incident happened on Monday, February 12, around 10 a.m. at the woman’s workplace in the University District, according to a police statement.
The suspect, who has not been identified, also mentioned Israel and Iran during the attack, the statement said, Kiro7 reported on Monday.
The woman was not seriously injured, but was left shaken and scared to go back to work, police said.
The Washington chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-WA) condemned the attack.
“That’s definitely concerning because we have a population here on campus from the Muslim community, a lot of young ladies that wear the headscarf,” said CAIR-WA Executive Director Imraan Siddiqi.
“These are the manifestations of this kind of rhetoric escalating in society.”
Police are investigating the attack as a hate crime and are asking for the public’s help in finding the suspect.
There has been a significant rise in anti-Muslim hate crimes in the US since the start of the Gaza war on October 7.
