Qatar’s Awqaf Ministry Reports about Cultural Events Held during World Cup

Qatar’s Awqaf Ministry has provided a brief report about the cultural events that it organized on the sideline of the 2022 World Cup.

De acuerdo con rahyaft (los misioneros y la convierte en el sitio web):Sheikh Abdulla Bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs conducted a number of events and activities during FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

The Center, in cooperation with Katara Cultural Village Foundation, Tourism Authority, and Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC) introduced people of Qatar and their culture to the fans.

In an initiative of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, the first of its kind in the Arab region, Doha hotels placed a “barcode” bearing the logo of the Sheikh Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center to introduce Islam in all languages of the world during mega sporting event.

The Center held an interactive Islamic exhibition at the Imam Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab Mosque for introducing the mosque and its parts, the rituals performed in it, and its nature.

The exhibition enabled visitor to get acquainted, through an introductory tour, with the mosque and its Islamic architecture. They also got acquainted, through the accompanying exhibition, with some aspects of Islam, faith, and historical mosques in Qatar.

The Center also held several other exhibitions at its headquarters, Katara Cultural Village showcasing life before Islam, and the change it brought about in Arab and human life as a whole, in terms of conveying people to pure monotheism and the light of faith, the determination of rights, and the arbitration of justice.

In addition, the virtual reality film allows visitors to enter the Holy Kaaba and discover what is inside it. The centre also showed a film about the covering of the Kaaba, and real examples of it, in order to demonstrate the greatness of Islamic arts, and the connection of Islamic culture with belief and worship, as well as providing an introduction to the Kaaba itself, its status in Islam, and its connection with the prophets, peace be upon them.

At the centre’s headquarters, an event was held for the Qatari Council, which included a presentation on the Qatari heritage, and an introduction to its various aspects.

It also presented the traditional Qatari hospitality of dates and coffee, which are Qatari customs and traditions and their relationship to religion, and at the same time, an introduction to food, clothing, construction and customs.

The centre was keen on the participation of a number of well-known calligraphers to write names and simple phrases in Arabic calligraphy, which attracted many fans, as they found in it a suitable souvenir, which they took with them to their countries.
