Who are embracing Islam are women. Muslim women should speak out, to defend their belief and answer why Islam is the fastest growing religion in America? What it is we Muslims are proud of in our faith? How education is the responsibility of women in Islam not their right? What to do to correct what comes to non-Muslims’ mind as they see a woman wearing hijab?
We as Muslim people have to be educated. The non-Muslims are not going to educate people about Islam. We have the responsibility to educate people that our modesty dress is not oppression, it is our choice. This is our right to be judged by our intellect, character and our contribution to society, the things that people should be judged for, not how nice our hair looks on that given day. Not how skinny we look, it’s our job to show our faith as a positive thing in the society, something we enjoy and love to embrace.
Who is Dr Lisa Killinger ?
Lisa Killinger, D.C., Davenport ’83, is a professor of Diagnosis and Radiology at Palmer College of Chiropractic. She has directed or co-directed eight governmental grants (from the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration or HRSA) on the topic of geriatric education and interdisciplinary health care, and served as a site coordinator for the HRSA-funded Iowa Geriatric Education Centerfor more than 10 years. Dr. Killinger teaches Geriatrics, Male and Female Health, Case Study Writing, and Chiropractic Technique courses for students, educators and health professionals. She has received dozens of awards for her teaching and research over the past two decades.
