Imam Mahdi(as) in Bible prophecies.

The Bible prophecy on the matter of the final savior is a significant topic in the world of Judaism and Christianity. The Islamic tradition in the matter may appear to some Bible believers as irrelevant or even an opposing position.

According to rahyafte (the missionaries and converts website)   The Bible prophecy on the matter of the final savior is a significant topic in the world of Judaism and Christianity. The Islamic tradition in the matter may appear to some Bible believers as irrelevant or even an opposing position. However, both Old and New Testaments are pointing out that the Mahdi is the final and true savior of the nations.

He is related to Ario-Semitic-Roman genealogy. He is from Arians, Arabs, Jews and Roman Christians. He is from Persia, Arabia, Rome and Jerusalem. He is the promised one of Avesta, Tanakh, Gospels and Quran. He is a descendant of Prophet Mohammad pbuh&hp, Simona and Shahrbanoo, the diaughter of Yazdgerd, the Sassanian King of Persia.

The Biblical prophecies about Imam Mahdi pbuh are scattered throughout the Bible. The Book of Genesis (10:2) writes that Madai was the third son of Japheth, and the 16th grandson of Noah (Book of Jubilee 10:50-51). He was married to a daughter of Shem. Another passage that explains Imam Mahdi’s advent from Mekka is Isaiah 58. Below is the rendered translation of Isiah 58:1, 12. Interestingly, the chapter has 14 verses, representing the 14 infallibles in Shi’ite Islam.
Isaiah 58: 1, 12
1 “Recite by Quran (qə-rā ḇə-ḡā-rō-wna)[ ןוֹרָגְב” (qə-rā ḇə-ḡā-rō-wn) is translated “Shout it aloud” (NIV) but for more information you can refer to the source; p 263-283 where the root of the word and its real meaning has been explained.] do not hold back. Raise your voice like a trumpet. Declare to my people their rebellion and to the descendants of Jacob their sins.

12 You will rebuild from Mekka (mim-mə-ḵāb)[ “ ךְמִמ” (mim-mə-ḵā) is translated to “some of you”, “of”, “your people”, and so on, but for more information you can refer to the source; p 59-61]the ancient ruins and will raise up the foundations of generation and generation; you will be called Repairer of Broken Ghadeer (רדג gō-ḏêr)[source:p 202-207], Restorer of Streets with Dwellings.

these two verses are brilliant explanations of the Quran (as the first announcement of Isaiah 58) and someone who will repair the broken Ghadeer. “ Repairer”, in Arabic, is جبار (Jabir). It is one of Imam Mahdi’s nicknames. The verse number (12) may also represent Imam Mahdi pbuh numerically; he is the 12th Imam.

Moreover, the book of Revelation has excellent passages about Imam Mahdi’s Occultation and re-appearance. The Bible talks about a lady who has 12 stars on her crown, she gives birth to a son. He goes on occultation and will return with an iron sword to rule nations. It is in chapter 12 of the Book of Revelation. [a numerical indication of the 12th Imam] Chapter 19 of Revelation has another prophecy about Imam Mahdi pbuh, although it could also indicate Prophet Muhammad pbuh. Right at the beginning, it talks about Furqan, the Holy Qurana, but the word Furqan is translated to “salvation”. Revelation 19 NIV
1 After this I heard what sounded like the roar of a great multitude in heaven shouting: Salvation (Furqana) and glory and power belong to our God, “Hallelujah!

Rendered translation: Revelation 19:1
And after these things I heard a great voice of a crowd in heaven, saying, Glory to Furqan, the Praise and might belongs to Allah.

“Hallelujah” is equivalent to Arabic “Alhamdulel-Allah”, meaning “Praise be to Allah”. Revelation 19:1 not only mentions the Holy Quran but also gives another sign; the heavenly voice says, “The Praise and might belongs to Allah.” This is exactly how the Quran starts:

The Quran, Chapter 1:1,2

1 In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. 2 Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds.

Having the name and the opening chapter of the Holy Quran in Revelation 19:1 ensures that the context is about Islam.

Verse 9 clarifies that it is talking about “the true words of God.” It is not talking about any book but the Quran because the name is there, right at the beginning:

9 Then the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!” And he added, “These are the true words of God.”
10 At this I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “Don’t do that! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers and sisters who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For it is the Spirit of prophecy who bears testimony to Jesus.”

Therefore, verse 10 must be opposing the common Christian belief of worshiping Jesus pbuh or the Holy Spirit. It says, “Worship God! For it is the Spirit of prophecy who bears testimony to Jesus;” meaning if you want to bear testimony to Jesus, worship God alone. Islam has made a same statement regarding Trinity. We read in the Quran:

The Quran, Chapter1
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. 2 Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds; 3 Most Gracious, Most Merciful; 4 Master of the Day of Judgment. 5 Thee do we worship, and Thine aid we seek. 6 Show us the straight way, 7 The way of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy Grace, those whose (portion) is not wrath, and who go not astray.

Revelation 19:11 gives even his name, Mahimen but translated to “Faithful and True.”

11 I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages war.

the “true” and “Faithful” which are Ahmed and Ameen; the well-known name and nickname of the Prophet of Islam and may apply to Al-Mahdi pbuh whose name is also same. The white horse is also well known in the Islamic tradition as the horse of the Prophet and Al-Mahdi pbut. “With statement, describing the defensive wars of both. In Peshitta we see the word “Faithful” as ܐܢܡܝܗܡ mhymn (from ēman). It means “trustworthy”, the exact meaning of Arabic “Ameen.”

Revelation in general and chapter 19 in particular is not a historic record but a prophetic text. If we assume that it is a prediction of Jesus’ second coming, then we must accept that the Revelation is prophesying both Jesus and Mahdi pbut, because Jesus pbuh was never called Ameen. The context of Revelation 19 is also far from being a Christo messianic prophecy. The remaining verses illustrate a great battle between Ameen and the entire world.
