Leader Offers Condolences on Death of Senior Iranian Cleric Ayatollah Naseri

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei expressed condolences over the death of Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Naseri, a prominent Iranian ethics teacher who passed away on Friday at 92.

According to Rahyafte (the missionaries and converts website):In a message on Saturday, the Leader described the cleric as a devout scholar and wayfarer on the path of God.

Following is the Leader’s message, according to Khamenei.ir website:

“In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful

On the demise of the devout scholar and wayfarer on the path of God, Ayatollah Haj Sheikh Muhammad Ali Naseri, I offer my condolences to all the people of Isfahan, to all his admirers, to all those who benefited from the deceased’s teachings, and especially to his respectable, honorable children.

This noble scholar and teacher of ethics deemed this great task of purification and spreading the moral teachings of Islam to be his duty. By benefiting from his humble, modest, enlightened heart, he used effective, penetrating words to carry out this task. May God’s mercy and satisfaction be upon him. I ask God, the Almighty, to accept his services and to bestow divine forgiveness upon him.

Ayatollah Naseri was born in 1930 in Esfahan. After finishing primary school in Dolat Abad, he attended Esfahan Seminary School. At 14, he immigrated to Iraq’s Najaf along with his father and continued his seminary education in the holy city.

He attended classes of senior scholars such as Mohammad Kufi, Seyed Mohammad Kashmiri, Sheikh Abbas Ghouchani, Seyed Hashem Haddad, Seyed Jamaleddin Golpayegani, and Allameh Tabatabai.

Nasseri used to provide lectures, especially on Islamic ethics, at Kamar Zarrin Mosque in Esfahan.
