Ceremony Planned to Commemorate Allameh Tabatabai

A ceremony is planned to be held at the holy mausoleum of Hazrat Masoumeh (SA) in Qom, Iran, to commemorate late Iranian scholar and thinker Allameh Seyyed Mohammad Hossein Tabatabai.

According to Rahyafte(the missionaries and converts website)The ceremony, to start at 12:30 on Monday, will mark the 40th anniversary of the scholar’s demise.

It will also mark the start of the scholarly programs of an international congress on the life and works of Allameh Tabatabai.

Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad Mehdi Esmaeili and Director of Islamic Seminaries Ayatollah Ali Reza Arafi will address the ceremony.

Seyyed Mohammad Hossein Tabatabai, (16 March 1903 – 15 November 1981) was one of the most prominent thinkers in modern Shia Islam.

He is perhaps best known for his Tafsir Al-Mizan, a twenty-seven-volume work of Tafsir (Quranic exegesis) written between 1954 and 1972.
