Imam Hussain Uprising Displays Right Path to Oppressed Nations, Says Algerian Scholar

The uprising of Imam Hussain (AS) is the first in history that shows the right path to oppressed nations, according to an Algerian scholar and researcher.

According to Rahyafte(the missionaries and converts website)  Noura Farahat wrote that the movement of the third Imam (AS), in which the Imam (AS) and his companions, with all their determination confronted oppression and injustice, displayed the right path with its depth and precision.

She added that the Karbala uprising redefined all criterion of movements and revolutions.

The revolution led by Imam Hussain (AS) is a school that teaches lessons of self-sacrifice and defending all the sublime values Islam presented by Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS), she said.

According to the scholar, the blessed uprising was a revival of all Islamic values and had very important political, ideological and religious outcomes that still exist in societies and are manifested in the culture of resistance against arrogance and oppression.

The Islamic Revolution of Iran was perhaps the best and most successful example of following the messages of Ashura and Karbala and one in which people from all walks of life stood up against oppression and achieved victory without receiving any help from world powers or nearby countries, she said.

They even countered the revolution because they saw it as one that opposed their logic of dominance and arrogance, she noted.

Farhat referred to the Islamic resistance in Lebanon as another movement inspired by Imam Hussain (AS) uprising, saying it helped the resistance forces to achieve great victories against the occupying regime of Israel.

She went on to say that the main objective of Imam Hussain (AS) movement was to revive the mission of the true Islam introduced by the Holy Prophet (PBUH), stressing that the path of the Imam (AS) will continue to have followers until God’s promises given in verse 26 of Surah Anfal “And remember how He gave you shelter when you were few in number and considered weak in the land, ever fearing that the people would snatch you away; but He gave you refuge and supported you with His victory and provided you with goodness, so that you might give thanks,” and verse 160 of Surah Al Imran, “If Allah helps you, none can overcome you. If He forsakes you, who then can help you after Him? Therefore, in Allah let the believers put all their trust,” are fulfilled.
