The demise of Dr. Jalaluddin Rahmat, a well-known figure in the largest Islamic country as a man of religion, politics, and service to humanity, saddened the hearts of all Muslims.

He was one of the pioneers and founders of the Ahl al-Bayt school in Indonesia. His behavior and speech were so wise and popular that he entered the parliament with a majority vote.

By the establishment of Islamic-academic institutes, he took steps to develop pure Islamic ideas. It was he who, with his ideas, his political activities, as well as his social and humanitarian services, prevented extremists and Takfiris in Indonesia.

We offer our condolences to his honorable family and his enlightened son, Hojjat al-Islam, Dr. Miftah, and the Muslim community and the followers of the Ahl al-Bayt in Indonesia.

The Islamic world needs men like him, who are world-minded, unifying, and fighting extremists. Undoubtedly, the path of this great man will be continued.
