According to rahyafte (the missionaries and converts website) Salam alaikum. My Name is Sonja Frey. I am 20 years old and come from Germany. I became a Muslim on March 28, 2015 and I am Shia.
I grew up as a Christian, but I already started asking questions about the religion in my childhood. Like why do we pray to Jesus if he never said pray to me? Why do we believe that Jesus is God? Jesus is a human and not omniscient but the God is. Jesus is not omnipotent but the God is. The almighty created Jesus. How he can be God then?
Why do we believe that God has son? Of course in the bible that nowadays we have.
But unfortunately I think that people read bible just by words and don’t think about it. So Son of God can be only meant as someone that God created him and when it says Father it usually means the creator.
How Jesus can be holy spirit? If it is really true then why they say a person will come after him according to bible, who cannot read and write, calls Jesus by name, comes with rules of God, whom we have to follow after?
So I rejected the trinity but I was sure there is just one God. Because everything has a cause and human being is not able to explain it. But every cause has its order. All days and nights are the most simple miracles for us to think how they exist and what is their cause and what is the cause of that cause….
Later at school at sixth grade, when I was 13 or 14 years old, I heard about Islam for the first time. It was in ethic lesson in my school that I accustomed with Islam. We learned what is Islam, five pillars of Islam, about holy prophet Muhammad (God bless him) and also about the history. We were also read some chapters in Quran (in German) and learned the moves of the prayer.
I was interested in reading the whole Quran in German translation. But how can I find a Quran?
A Quran in German version was gifted to me by brothers from the Sunni mosque in my hometown. I was reading it and I completely agreed with holy Quran. It’s the only religion that my mind almost agrees.
I started having contact with Sunni sisters and I also went to the mosque and talked to the sheikh. All was fine but I didn’t revert because of one disagreement and was hating the Shias.
They told me something like Shias are dangerous, they get you out of the true way, they pray to stone instead to Allah, have fake Quran, hurt themselves with knifes, believe Imam Ali as a prophet and not prophet Muhammad (God bless him), grave worshippers And so on….
It’s none of your business to search about them…..
But….
What does the word Shia means? Why they are called as Shia? Are they really like this? If yes why dying is better than searching about them? Why should I reject or hate something that I don’t know anything about it?
So I was searching to find the reason in their books. The result was I haven’t found any evidence proving this hate. And because I agreed with the Islamic religion I decided to be a Muslim. Of course when you become a Muslim people will ask you about being Shia or Sunni. I just said that I am a Muslim because the Quran says we should be Muslims.
I went to a Shia lesson room in Pal talk for studying Shia. They told to me, there aren’t so much differences between Shia and Sunni except in successor ship of holy prophet Muhammad (God bless him) and in the jurisprudence.
But this was not enough for me. I was sure that Islam is true, So I continued my studies and went through the history. Because history is the easiest way to find out the truth. I found in all schools that Shia was created after demise of holy prophet Muhammad (God bless him). But also this was not enough. I had to know about the believes and practices. The admin of Imam Reza (as) English lesson room taught me to say prayer in Shia way. Anyway my researches brought me also back to holy bible where I found many proofs for Shia Islam. I also found many proofs as well in the Sunni books. All my doubts has removed and after that I saw a website called www.abubakr.net and I decided to become Shiite. My further experiences and also videos from Shia Hamzah Al-batul TV and some other improvements in my knowledge made me stronger in my beliefs.
Now I live in Iran for improve my knowledge and also for improve my personality as well to become a good Shiite of Imam Ali (as) and a German speaking preacher who is teaching the truth about Shia Islam, Ahlulbayt (as) and about Iran in Germany and German language countries.
